The Poets
The Poets

I read your soul—
Cover to cover,
Again and again.

My heart melted,
Dripped drops of
Unobtainable love.

The poets.
The silence.
The irony.

These unspoken words,
This unwritten understanding—
Our eyes say all we don’t dare.

A shared look.
A private moment.
Illicit sexual tension.

Yet our passion penetrates;
Though we will never touch,
I can still feel you inside me…

So I read your soul—
Cover to cover,
Again and again.
